Mr. Pierre de Smet is the President of Dynalog, a company that has been building an international reputation in the area of Precision Robotics over the course of nearly 30 years. He holds a Master’s Degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering from the Catholic University of Leuven in Belgium (KUL). Mr. de Smet holds several international patents in that area. Dynalog has its headquarters in Michigan, USA, with a network of distributors around the globe.
Mr. de Smet has won awards such as Michigan’s Outstanding High-Tech Entrepreneur of the Year as well as the U.S. Commerce Department’s Export Achievement Award. He also won the prestigious International Engelberger Robotic Award for Technology Development, presented by the International Federation of Robotics (IFR) and recognized within the international robot community as an “Olympic Gold Medal” equivalent.
Mr. de Smet is an active member of the Robotic Industries Association (RIA). Additionally, he serves as director of the French-American Chamber of Commerce in Michigan, and is active with the FIRST Robotics organization, whose mission is to get younger generations excited and interested in science and technology as a future career path. He is also a Director on the Advisory Board of Lawrence Technology University (LTU) in Southfield.
